Coleman was awarded nominations for Best Actress, Sexiest Woman as well as Best Dramatic Performance in the British Soap Awards 2009. Coleman won a TV Choice Award nomination for Best Actress. Steven Moffat of Doctor Who made it clear at a press event on 21st march 2012, that Coleman would be replacing Karen Gillan after she and Arthur Darvill had left. Moffat selected her for the role due to her being the most efficient in her interactions with Smith and spoke more quickly than Smith. Her work has been much more visible on television than in films. Eva's roles in TV series The Dr. Maria Santos, in All My Children, and the role of Detective Natalia Boa Vista in CSI Miami stand out. This particular show gave Eva two nominations for the 'Daytime Emmy. Also, she got to express her creative side via music. Eva is not just acting, but she's also a businesswoman and philanthropist. Her third husband is father of her daughter.
