Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco was born in Canada and is American. She has released more than 20 albums. The music of DiFranco has been described as folk and alternative rock although it has additional influences from punk funk hip music and jazz. Ani DiFranco was the very first musician to start her own label in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered as one of the feminist icons. DiFranco was born on the 23rd of September 1970 in New York City, York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who was introduced to Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
